ART IS EVERYWHERE

If you open your eyes to it, you can see art in most things. Do not limit your art intake to just photography. The best advice I can give would be just that. Maybe you have days, weeks, months where you feel uninspired, or stuck in a rut. I believe that's one downfall of being a creative mind. We pressure ourselves so much that we can talk ourselves into thinking we aren't good enough. Don't be afraid to look at other types of art; surround yourself with art daily. I promise you: you're being inspired. Go to a museum, watch a movie, read a book, find a local painter and purchase a piece of artwork that speaks to you! If you look at art through the eyes of a creative mind instead of through eyes tainted with jealousy and negativity, your life and art will change for the better.

Instead of looking at someone else's artwork and thinking "man, this work is so good; why can't I make art this beautiful?" or "I'll never be good enough to create work like this", change your mindset. When you look at the artwork, just take it in for what it is. Be proud of and inspired by that artist. Jealousy and negativity are like kryptonite to the creative mind. Do not let your mind limit your abilities. I know this is easier to hear than it is to put into practice, but if you want to reach your full level of creative potential (though, I'm hopeful there is always room for creativity to grow), you need to put in the effort. You need to train your mind and your heart to take in all forms of artwork in a positive way. Instead of wishing you could make art that looks exactly like someone else's, tell yourself you can make artwork just as lovely but with your own unique eye.
